Why DSG?
At Dave Scamurra Goaltending we provide each goalie with the best physical and mental techniques that it takes to get to the next level in hockey. Whether you're at the Major Junior Level, or at a beginner level, we show each goalie how to execute proper fundamentals by having 1 Instructor, as well as a shooter on the ice at all times. Unlike most goalie schools, all students who attend DSG will be able to learn Drills/Techiniques by visual example.
About Dave Scamurra
Dave has over 15 years in Goaltending experience playing at the AAA Rep Level right through to Major Junior. Dave was a high potential prospect to teams in the OHL,USHL and QHL before his career came to a sudden end due to a life threatening injury. Dave has taken his life experience in goaltending along with his extensive amount of knowledge that he's gained over his career, and has put together a modern day goaltending system, that has taken hundreds of goalies to the next level in their hockey career. Dave, in a systematic way will transfer his knowledge to up and coming goalies to help make them the best they can be.Dave has been selected as the goalie coach for the 2009-2010 JR.A Oakville Blades, making him one of the youngest goalie coaches to ever Coach a JR.A hockey team.
Dave's Playing Experience
1998-2000: Mississauga Reps AAA.
2000-2001: North York Canadians AAA- All Ontario Champions (All Ontario M.V.P.)
2001-2002: North York Rangers AAA.
2002-2004: Wexford Raiders AAA- Finalists- (Best G.A.A two years in a row)
2004-2005: Oakville Blades OJHL- Western Conference Finalists, Played in Rookie All-star Game,
Recorded more than 5 shutouts in regular season, Won Best G.A.A in the western conference.
2005-2006: Ottawa 67's OHL- Oakville Blades OJHL- Western Conference Champions.
2006-2007: Kingston Frontenacs OHL- Niagara Falls Canucks OJHL- GHL Finalists, Best Save Percentage and G.A.A., Starting Goalie for 06/07 GHL All Star Game.
